Campaign for Grade-Level Reading

There are presently no open calls for submissions.

As the anticipation of GLR Week in Philadelphia continues to build, we are excited to announce the return of the Communications Expo for 2018. In the spirit of GLR Week’s “Lift, Learn and Lead” theme, the Communications Expo will focus on celebrating ideas that work by featuring innovative and effective tools from GLR Network communities across the nation. The Expo will highlight and honor communities whose communications tools have successfully moved the needle on grade-level reading efforts while providing opportunities for attendees to take and apply these tools in their own GLR programs. This format affords GLR Week attendees the opportunity to come to Philadelphia prepared to share their work and learnings with colleagues — further enriching the connections made between members of the Network throughout the week.

For the 2018 Communications Expo, communities will be asked to submit tools that effectively promoted the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading’s community solution areas, in addition to the GLR movement:
● School Readiness
● School Attendance
● Summer Reading

Communities will have the opportunity to submit tools such as:
● Awareness Campaign
● Media Partnership
● Media Story
● Website
● Social Media
● Print Collateral
● Photo
● Video
● Event

Based on the recommendations of an external review panel, we will identify up to 20 honorees to display at the Communications Expo during GLR Week. Expo attendees will have the
opportunity to take and incorporate the ideas shared by these honorees in their own communications strategies.

How to Enter

When considering what items to submit, communities should focus on tools that:
● addressed a specific solution area within their community
● are based on a strategic plan of action
● produced measurable or anecdotal results
● can be shared and implemented by other GLR communities

Tools that were utilized between April 2017 and May 2018 will be eligible for submission. Communities will have one month after the submission portal is open to submit their entries, and
honorees will be notified by the first week of July.

Following the Communications Expo, all submissions will be available for download on the GLR Learning for Impact and Improvement System, which will be launched at GLR Week in Philadelphia.

Submissions will be accepted through June 15 at 11:59 p.m.
